The Supreme Court has directed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to appear through video link


Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan is hearing the government's appeals against the nullification of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendments case and has decided not to stream the hearing.
According to the details, the decision to not air the hearing was made with 4-1. A five-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa is conducting the hearing, Justice Aminuddin, Justice Jamal Mandukhel, Justice Athar Minullah and Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi are part of the bench. While, founder Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan appeared via video link.
At the beginning of the hearing, the hearing of the case was adjourned.
The court noted that the hearing will resume after consultation on the live hearing.
Justice Athar Minullah supported the live broadcast and said that the hearing should be live if it was shown live before.
On this, the Advocate General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that this case is of public interest, the Chief Justice remarked that this is a technical case and not a matter of public interest.
Later, the bench adjourned to deliberate on live telecasting of the case.
It is pertinent to note that during the previous hearing, Chief Justice Qazi Faez had remarked that if an ordinance is to be brought, then the parliament should be closed.
At the beginning of the hearing of the NAB amendment case in the Supreme Court, former Prime Minister Imran Khan was presented in the court through a video link and the hearing lasted for about two and a half hours.
On May 14, the Supreme Court allowed Imran Khan to appear via video link during the hearing against the nullification of the National Accountability Bureau Amendments.
