Law minister discusses PTI issues, judicial reforms
Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar emphasizes the need to establish election tribunals comprising retired judges
Islamabad: Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar stated that the law would take its own course regarding the matter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and that the PTI was imposing restrictions on itself.
Azam Nazeer Tarar mentioned that PTI was not conducting intra-party elections and it lost its electoral symbol.
He made these remarks while talking to a local private TV on Saturday.
Tarar further commented that he was unaware of the developments regarding fuel prices that happened late at night and emphasized the need to establish election tribunals comprising retired judges.
Azam Nazeer Tarar explained that changes in society and behavior happen gradually and cannot be transformed overnight.
The Federal Minister praised Justice (Retd) Tassaduq Jillani for his thoughtful use of suo motu notices, particularly for taking notice of minority rights, emphasizing the importance of unity under one flag.
Azam Nazeer Tarar expressed concern over the culture of intolerance, noting that the Prime Minister instructed him to resolve pending issues upon taking office. He highlighted the importance of changing societal behaviors and pointed out that Pakistan’s religious tolerance was different before the Afghan war.
