The two teams from Group C of the T20 World Cup faced each other at the Guyana National Stadium


Guyana: Afghanistan defeated Uganda by 125 runs in the fifth match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's T20 World Cup.
Against Afghanistan, the entire Ugandan team collapsed for 48 runs before the allotted overs.
In the fifth match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, Afghanistan had set a target of 184 runs for Uganda to win. Batting first against Uganda, Afghanistan scored 183 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In pursuit of 184 runs by Afghanistan, captain Brian Masabab was dismissed for no runs. Robinson Oboya 14, Ronak Patel four, Suman Sisazi four, Riazat Ali Shah 11, Dinesh Nakrani six and Bilal Hasan was dismissed with eight runs, Kosmas Kivota scored two runs and remained not out.
The two teams from Group C of the T20 World Cup faced each other at the Guyana National Stadium.
First innings
Uganda won the toss and decided to field first against Afghanistan.
Afghanistan's openers Rahmatullah Garbaz and Ibrahim Zadran made a partnership of 154 runs for the team and gave the team a great start.
On the third ball of the 15th over of the innings, Ibrahim Zadran scored 70 runs off 46 balls with the help of 1 six and 9 fours. While Rahmatullah also returned to the pavilion with a total score of 156, he scored 76 runs off 45 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 4 fours.
On behalf of Afghanistan, Najeebullah Zadran could score only two runs while Gulbuddin Naib scored four runs and Azmatullah Omarzai scored five runs.
Mohammad Nabi scored 14 runs off 16 balls and captain Rashid Khan remained unbeaten on two runs off one ball.
For Uganda, Brian Masaba and Kosmas Kiwuta took two wickets each while Alpesh Ramajani got one wicket.
It is pertinent to note that after Namibia from Africa, Uganda was the second team to qualify for the T20 World Cup in America.
On the other hand, the Afghanistan team has defeated teams like Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka in addition to participating in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup held in India last year.
