Chief Justice Malik Shahzad remarked that it is sad that they are trying to put pressure on the judges

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Thursday rejected the government's requests to transfer the cases of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi to another court.
Chief Justice LHC Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan heard the government's request to transfer the May 9 cases of Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi and other accused from Rawalpindi court to another court.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Malik Shahzad remarked that it is sad that they are trying to put pressure on the judges. The country has been made a joke. It has become a new trend to make speeches against the judge they do not like.
He said that tell me whether the judge has a relationship with the opposite party or has he been bribed. What is the danger in prison? Do judges sit in the sky and hear? Where is it written that if there is a reference against the judge, he will stop working?
The Chief Justice of LHC remarked that the people sitting in the government want to refer cases to their favorite judge. The government has no trust in the judges of LHC or Islamabad High Court (IHC).
On this occasion, the Prosecutor General Punjab replied: “We do not have a personal problem with any judge”. On which Chief Justice Malik stated that this is a personal problem of the government.
Later, the LHC rejected the Punjab government's requests to transfer the cases of Imran and Shah Mehmood to another court with a fine of Rs200,000.
