Ready to ‘go extra mile’ but our desire for peace shouldn’t be considered as weakness: PM
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan is prepared to go the extra mile to ensure peace in region, but no one should mistake the desire for stability and peace as a sign of weakness.

Taking to twitter, PM wrote that Pakistan stands united and resolute with the Kashmiris in their legitimate struggle for self-determination, which has been reaffirmed by international community in numerous United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
He further wrote India has failed to weaken the resolve of Kashmiri people even after seventy years and now a younger generation of Kashmiris is taking the struggle forward with even greater resolve.
Over 7 decades of Indian Occupation & oppression have failed to weaken the Kashmiri people's resolve to struggle for their right to self-determination. Now, a younger generation of Kashmiris is taking the struggle forward with even greater resolve.

He added that if India demonstrates sincerity in seeking a just solution to the Kashmir issue in accordance with UNSC resolutions, Pakistan is ready to take two steps forward for peace.
PM concluded, “Rather, it is because of our strength & confidence as a nation that we are prepared to go the extra mile to ensure a just peace that fulfills the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
If India demonstrates sincerity in seeking a just solution to the Kashmir issue, in accordance with UNSC resolutions, we are ready to take two steps forward for peace. But let no one mistake our desire for stability & peace as a sign of weakness.

The Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed today (Friday) with renewed commitment to bring Kashmir issue to the limelight and expose worst ever oppression being perpetrated by Indian occupation forces against Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).
India on August 05, 2019 in a unilateral move abrogated Articles 370 and 35A granting special status to occupied Kashmir. The move was followed by imposition of curfew and communication blackout in the valley still intact after 550 days.
