Sindh govt presents Rs3.056tr budget for FY2024-25
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah reveals a salary increase of 30% for Sindh government employees in grades 1 to 16 and a 22% hike for those in grades 17 to 22
Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who also serves as the Finance Minister, presented the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 in the Sindh Assembly on Friday.
CM Murad Ali Shah while addressing the budget session announced that the total budget outlay for the province is estimated at Rs3.056 trillion.
In his budget presentation for 2024-25, the chief minister revealed a salary increase of 30% for Sindh government employees in grades 1 to 16 and a 22% hike for those in grades 17 to 22. He also proposed a 15% increase in pensions and a raise in the minimum wage from Rs35,550 to Rs37,000.
The chief minister highlighted that Rs519 billion has been allocated for education and Rs334 billion for the health sector in the 2024-25 budget.
Besides it, the provincial government has allocated Rs56 billion for the transport sector and Rs302 billion for local government in the upcoming fiscal year.
