Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to close all primary and middle schools amid intense hot weather in the province.

According to an official notification from the Elementary and Secondary Education Department (ESED), all schools in the summer zone and some of the winter zone will remain closed until further orders.
However, the schools up to higher secondary level in the winter zone of KP will remain open.
The decision is equally applicable to both public and private schools.
All educational institutions have been directed to conduct classes of only those subjects for which the students will be taking exams this year.
Moreover, the education department has advised students to cover their heads with hats, caps or umbrellas, and directed to stay hyderated.
Earlier this month, the federal government announced that examination for inter and matric will begin from July 10.
