Ned Beatty, star of Superman dies at 83
Acclaimed Hollywood actor Ned Beatty, well known for his several memorable roles for many decades, has died. The Superman star passed away at his home. He was 83.
The Oscar-nominated actor died of natural causes at his Los Angeles home, his daughter Blossom Beatty revealed.
The veteran actor’s agency Shelter Entertainment Group later confirmed the news to other media.
"Ned passed away from natural causes Sunday morning, surrounded by his family and loved ones," the agency stated.
The actor is survived by his wife, Sandra Johnson, and eight children.
Beatty started his career in theater before landing his first role in the movie Deliverance, opposite Burt Reynolds.
He was nominated for an Academy Award, two Emmy Awards, an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain, and a Golden Globe Award.
He also crowned Drama Desk Award.
He was one of the top character actors in film, particularly during the 1970s, and appeared in over 160 films.
