Govt hikes petrol price by Rs9.99 per litre
The High-speed diesel has gone up by Rs6.18 per litre for next 15 days
Islamabad: The federal government on Monday increased petrol price by Rs9.99 per litre for the next fortnight.
The federal government also issued the notification regarding increase in the petrol prices in the country.
The new petrol price after the increase settled at Rs275.60
According to the notification, the high-speed diesel was increased by Rs6.18 per litre. After this increase, high-speed per litre price reached Rs283.83.
The inflation already caused huge burden on the general public and now the fresh increase in the POL prices would cause more trouble for them.
Earlier, on July 1, the federal government had already increased petrol prices by Rs 7.45 per litre. According to a notification from the Finance Division, petrol was set at Rs 265.61 per litre, up from the previous Rs 258.16 per litre.
Similarly, high-speed diesel was adjusted to Rs 277.45 per litre, an increase of Rs 9.56 from the previous rate of Rs 267.89 per litre.
