Complainants stated that more than 120 million voters were affected by the actions of ECP Chief and members

Islamabad: A complaint was filed in the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) against Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja and its members.
The complaint was jointly filed by Haleem Adil Shaikh, Justice (retd) Noor-ul-Haq Qureshi and Shabbir Ahmed.
According to the text of the complaint, the Chief Election Commissioner and the members failed to fulfill their constitutional responsibilities and tried to undermine the mandate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and court decisions.
The complainants stated that more than 120 million voters were affected by the actions of the Chief Election Commissioner and members.
They are of the view that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) appointed politically appointed bureaucracy in the general elections as Returning Officers (RO) and District Returning Officers (DRO). Former Commissioner Rawalpindi revealed that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won by 70,000 votes in each constituency of Rawalpindi.
According to the text of the complaint, the ECP first deprived the PTI of its electoral symbol and then its nominated members of the party name. In the complaint, it has been requested that an inquiry be made into the allegations leveled against the Chief Election Commissioner and the members.
On the other hand, in the announcement issued by the ECP yesterday, it was stated the Election Commission did not misinterpret any decision. It strongly condemned the targeting of the Chief Election Commissioner by a political party. It did not declare PTI's intra-party election valid, and they were not per the law, on which the election symbol was withdrawn. The Commission rejected the continuous unwarranted criticism by a political party.
The spokesperson of the ECP said that the demand for resignation from the commission is absurd. The commission will continue to work according to the constitution and law without considering any kind of pressure.
