MD of WASA Ghufran Ahmed visited different areas of Lahore and ordered to drain the rainwater immediately


Lahore: After rain in various cities of Punjab including Lahore, Gujranwala, and Hafizabad, power supply was suspended in different areas.
The weather became pleasant due to rain in Davies Road, Mughalpura, Gawalmandi, Laxmi Chowk, and surrounding areas of Lahore. While rain was also recorded in Ichhra, Muslim Town, Faisal Town, Township, and Harbanspura.
After the rain, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rafia Haider issued instructions to all the institutions to be on alert. While Managing Director (MD) of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Ghufran Ahmed visited different areas of the city and ordered to drain the rainwater immediately.
Thunderstorm rains were also recorded in and around Bhimbar Azad Kashmir while rainwater from the Kherthar mountain range entered the Hub River.
According to the authorities, the alternative route has been partially damaged due to the flooding of the Hub River, but its repair work is underway.
