11 killed after rainwater entered house basement in Kohat
Rescue officials said search for missing five-year-old girl in flood water is going on
Kohat: A tragic incident took place in Dara Adam Khel Old Bazid Khel area of Kohat city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where 11 people lost their lives due to rainwater entering the basement of the house.
According to the rescue officials, the members of the same family in the basement drowned in the flood water, while a five-year-old girl is still missing.
They stated that the search for the missing five-year-old girl in the flood water is going on. Women and children are also among the dead.
On the other hand, after the heavy rain in Rawalpindi, two women died on the spot when the roof of the house collapsed in Waris Khan area.
It is pertinent to note that six people were killed and one person was injured due to a lightning strike in Nangarparkar area of Tharparkar district of Sindh yesterday.
On July 29, torrential rains in different areas of the country led to floods. Several low-lying areas were flooded, and a rain emergency was also imposed in other cities including Rawalpindi due to torrential rains.
