Sheikh Rashid said that for past 50 years, ‘We have been celebrating Independence Day and holding a rally on night of August 13’


Rawalpindi: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former federal minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed requested a rally outside his residence Lal Haveli in Rawalpindi on August 13.
Sheikh Rashid said in his message regarding the Independence Day celebration and rally outside Lal Haveli on the night of August 13, that for the past 50 years, ‘We have been celebrating Independence Day and holding a rally on the night of August 13’.
He stated that last day he applied to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi for the Independence Day rally and it is hoped that the night rally will be allowed. A historic meeting will be held on the night of August 13 from 10:00pm to 12:00am. He appealed everyone to participate in this celebration and gathering.
The former federal minister further said that 670 people were innocent in the events of May 9 for whom he has requested amnesty from the establishment.
