Official says by August 03, 2014, at least 675,190 Afghanis have left for their homes

Islamabad: The process of repatriating Afghan nationals residing illegally in different cities of Pakistan is ongoing.
According to official figures, by August 3, 2024, the total number of illegal Afghan residents who have left Pakistan has reached 675,190.
Reports indicate that from July 21 to August 3, 15,537 Afghan nationals, including 6,345 men, 4,963 women, and 4,229 children, returned to their country.
It is noteworthy that even before the announcement by the Government of Pakistan, a large number of illegal Afghan residents were returning to Afghanistan out of fear of arrest. However, as of August 3, official statistics confirm that over 675,000 Afghan nationals have returned home.
It is important to highlight that a significant number of illegal Afghan residents were present in most Pakistani cities. Due to the presence of these illegal foreigners, smuggling and extortion were quite common. However, it is reassuring that the joint efforts of the Government of Pakistan and the military leadership are successfully continuing the process of removing illegal residents from the country.
