Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) budget for the next fiscal year 2021-22 will be presented in Provincial Assembly in Peshawar today at 03:00 pm.

Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra will present the budget proposals.
As per sources, the budget had been finalized and would have an outlay of over Rs1 trillion, largest ever in the province’s history.
Reportedly, the Annual Development Programme (ADP) would have an Rs150 billion provincial component and over Rs89 billion will be for donor funded projects.
For merged tribal districts, the ADP has been pitched at more than Rs30 billion.
As per officials, more than 200 high impact development schemes would be completed by 2023 across the province. While, more than 700 ongoing projects have been prioritized for completion over next two years.
The Finance Minister stated that the government will be increasing the minimum wage to Rs21, 000.
He said all government employees under BPS-19 would get pay raise of 25pc or more.
KP government has set a revenue target of Rs75 billion own source revenue, which was 50 pc more than the target for the last year.
On the other hand, Peshawar police have made a plan to ensure security on the budget day.
Around 400 police personnel would be deployed around the assembly building and surrounding areas for the budget session.
In addition, the Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani restricted entry of visitors and guests to the assembly building during the session in a bid to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.
Following the official order, the security staff of the assembly’s secretariat is directed to not to allow irrelevant persons accompanied by the MPAs except their drivers to the assembly premises.
