Fazal-ur-Rehman says Govt fail to improve economy
JUI-F chief says country cannot progress without political stability
Mardan: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday criticized Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his government for failing to improve Pakistan's economy, which he said has deteriorated to a point where it may not recover.
He warned that the country cannot progress without political stability, and the current economic decline is too severe for the next government to turn around.
Speaking at a farmers’ convention in Mardan, Fazlur Rehman said that despite Shehbaz Sharif's promises to boost the economy, no significant progress has been made. He noted that China, Pakistan’s best friend, is eager to invest in various sectors, particularly agriculture, but has expressed concerns about the lack of political stability and deteriorating law and order in the country.
Rehman also criticized the unnecessary import of wheat from abroad and questioned the effectiveness of Shehbaz Sharif's visit to China, suggesting that it failed to secure the needed investments. He claimed to have told the Prime Minister that his visit was unsuccessful, as China had asked Pakistan to improve its situation before seeking investment.
The JUI-F chief emphasized the need for stability in Pakistan, warning that if the situation is not controlled, a period of instability will follow. He also expressed concerns about the objectives of the US and Western nations towards Pakistan, suggesting that they may not be in the nation’s best interests.
