Five injured in Peshawar explosion near police mobile
Injured personnel have been shifted to a nearby hospital
Peshawar: Five people, including two policemen, were injured in an explosion near a police van in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in Warsak Road Pir Bala area of Machni Gate.
The explosion occurred near a police van at around 9:00am when the officers were on a routine patrol on Warsak Road.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Qasim Ali Khan said that as a result of the explosion, two police personnel, and three passers-by were injured. All the injured were shifted to the hospital for medical assistance.
Bomb Disposal Squad (BDU) Superintendent of Police (SP) Arshad Khan said that 4 to 5 kg of explosives were used in the blast.
He stated that the blast was done by remote control. Six to seven suspects were also detained for investigation.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur called for a report on the Warsak road blast. He directed to provide the best medical aid to the injured.
