Possibility of heavy rain in Karachi today and Sunday would may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas
Karachi: The Meteorological Department has predicted rain across the country today (Saturday), including Karachi to receive heavy rain today and Sunday.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz said that monsoon winds may affect the city from today.
He stated that there is a possibility of heavy rain in Karachi today and Sunday, which is likely to cause urban flooding in low-lying areas.
According to the Meteorological Department, the spell of monsoon in the country is likely to continue till August 25, during which there may be thundershowers in various districts of Sindh and Punjab.
Rain was recorded in different parts of the country including Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.
On the other hand, rain is continuing in different areas of Lahore. The weather became pleasant when it rained with strong winds in different areas of the city.
Apart from this, many areas of Punjab including Sheikhupura, Rahim Yar Khan, and Kasur also received rain.
Heavy rain has also been recorded in many areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan
