Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir reassured the youth of Pakistan that the nation's future remained secure in the safe hands.
The army chief emphasized the vital role of unity, education, and resilience in overcoming the challenges faced by the country.
He was speaking at conclusion of the two-day National Youth Convention in Islamabad on Wednesday.
General Asim Munir stressed the importance of recognizing the value of an independent state, drawing attention to the hardships experienced by the people of Libya, Syria, Kashmir, and Gaza. He urged the youth to be mindful of these struggles while reinforcing the state’s duty to safeguard its citizens from the negative impacts of social media.
Touching on Pakistan's economic situation, the Army Chief rhetorically questioned the predictions of the country's economic default, offering a message of hope. He encouraged the youth to stay optimistic, reminding them that despair is not an option for Muslims.
General Munir reiterated that the youth represent Pakistan's greatest asset and vowed to shield them from harm. He underscored the necessity of a strong bond between the people, the government, and the military, emphasizing that this unity is essential for the nation's security and development.
Addressing the recent unrest in Parachinar, he affirmed the army's commitment to facilitating peace among the tribal communities through dialogue and reconciliation.
The Army Chief also commended the steadfastness of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in their support of the military’s fight against terrorism, likening their resilience to that of an iron wall that has stood alongside the armed forces for over two decades.
General Asim Munir conveyed a message of faith and optimism, expressing his belief that Pakistan would ultimately prevail against terrorism with the divine assistance.
