Agency spokesperson says this is first time in Pakistan that EPA will test fuel quality

Lahore: The Punjab Environmental Agency on Monday announced to test fuel quality across the province.
For the purpose, EPA spokesperson said that agency has all set to collect fuel samples from petrol pumps in province.
Talking to GNN News, he said that this was the first time in country that Punjab has kicked off such kind of action. “This fuel quality testing campaign will be made a permanent part of EPA’s routine where fuel station will be inspected on regular basis,” he added.
Spokesperson continued that EPA teams will conduct these inspections in collaboration with oil and gas regulatory authority (OGRA) and Oil Marketing agencies (OMCs).
This is pertinent to mention here that Punjab EPA never conducted such analysis of fuel sold in country.
Sources reveal that EPA laboratories are insufficient to test or conduct the analysis of different parameters in petroleum products.
