Mumtaz Zehra Baloch says Junagadh was historically and legally part of Pakistan

Islamabad: Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch on Thursday reaffirmed Pakistan's position on the Junagadh dispute, condemning India's ongoing control over the region.
Baloch underscored that Pakistan's stance on Junagadh—a city in Gujarat that was integrated into India in 1948—has remained consistent.
She asserted, "Junagadh was historically and legally part of Pakistan. India's continued occupation of this territory contravenes the United Nations Charter and international standards."
She described the Junagadh issue as being akin to the dispute over Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK), viewing it as an unresolved matter.
In addition, Baloch expressed Pakistan's commitment to fostering "positive and robust relations" with Bangladesh, noting that both nations stand to benefit from enhanced cooperation.
She emphasized that improved relations between the two countries would be advantageous for their citizens.
Baloch also announced that invitations have been extended to the leaders of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states.
Additionally, she revealed that Pakistan's Prime Minister is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly.
