Earthquake tremors were felt in many areas of the federal capital, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa


Lahore: The severe earthquake tremors of magnitude 5.7 were felt in different cities of the country including Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar on Wednesday.
Earthquake tremors were felt in many areas of the federal capital, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The cities of Multan, Faisalabad, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Kamalia, Khanewal, Bhalwal, Chiniot, Hafizabad, Toba Tek Singh, Gujarat, Sargodha and Jhang also experienced the earthquake.
Apart from this, earthquake tremors were also felt in Tala Gang and Chakwal.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, earthquake tremors were also felt in North Waziristan, DI Khan, Lakki Marwat, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Lower Dir, Malakand, Tank and Chitral.
According to the Seismological Centre, the tremors of the earthquake were felt at 12:28pm and the depth was 10 km. The epicenter was near DG Khan.
Due to the magnitude of the earthquake, panic spread as citizens came out of their homes and offices reciting the Holy verses. So far no loss of life or property has been reported.
Earthquake intensity and depth underground are determined on the Richter scale.
