Deputy Prime Minister further said that international partnership is necessary for maritime development


Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar Thursday said that blue economy is the need of the hour and efforts are on to restore the country's economy.
Speaking at the International Maritime Conference in Islamabad, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar stated that everyone has common interests related to maritime affairs. The government is taking steps to align the fishing sector with modern requirements. For fisheries, proper management of stocks and food is essential.
He added that it was very important to hold the maritime conference according to the requirements of today. Pakistan's blue economy can play an important role in the country's development at the global level. Measures are necessary for the promotion of the blue economy. The fisheries sector has special importance under the Special Investment Facilitation Centre (SIFC).
The Deputy Prime Minister further said that international partnership is necessary for maritime development. There is a need to promote modern trends in maritime affairs, creating ease for domestic and international investors, encouraging investors in the maritime industry.
Ishaq Dar also stated that blue economy will bring economic stability and employment opportunities to Pakistan. We will continue working with international maritime affairs organization. The international cooperation is necessary for the stability of maritime affairs.
He continued to say that the decarbonization of the maritime industry is going on. In the future, Pakistan's ports will see significant growth, the shipbuilding industry must be aligned with modern technology.
