Heavy rain affects flight operations in Islamabad
Islamabad-Beijing flight will leave 2.5 hours late at 7:30pm
Islamabad: The flight operations of Islamabad Airport have been affected by heavy rain and bad weather in the federal capital.
According to aviation authorities, three foreign flights that arrived in Islamabad early in the morning could not land and were taken to Lahore. While more than 20 flights to and from Islamabad were delayed.
According to aviation officials, a foreign flight from Kuwait to Islamabad, a private airline flight from Sharjah to Islamabad and a PIA flight from Jeddah to Islamabad landed in Lahore. PIA sent the passengers to Islamabad through alternate means while the other two flights took off from Lahore and reached Islamabad due to bad weather.
Meanwhile, the arrival of flights from Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Al Qasim to Islamabad and the departure of 15 flights from Islamabad to Dubai, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, Bahrain, Gilgit, Skardu and others have been delayed.
According to the flight schedule, the Islamabad-Beijing flight will leave 2.5 hours late at 7:30pm, and the Islamabad-Dubai flight will leave eight hours late at 9:30pm.
Due to bad weather, two flights from Multan to Sharjah have been canceled. Due to operational reasons, the departure of the private airline flight from Lahore to Sharjah was delayed by nine hours. The private airline flight from Lahore to Karachi was delayed by three hours and the flight from Peshawar to Abu Dhabi will be delayed by seven hours at 6:00pm.
