Two leaders stressed more effective and accelerated international efforts on platforms of UN


New York: The series of meetings of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with world leaders continues in New York.
On the occasion of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with his Iraqi counterpart Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, in which regional and international issues of mutual interest were discussed.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hailed the strong relationship between Pakistan and Iraq and appreciated the Iraqi government for the arrangements made for Pakistani pilgrims every year.
During the meeting, the two leaders agreed to further expand the scope of Pakistan-Iraq bilateral relations. It was also decided to take advantage of the potential between the two countries for the promotion of cooperation.
The two leaders expressed deep concern over the ongoing Israeli massacres, oppression, and destruction of millions of humans lives in Gaza. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan's demand for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and holding Israel responsible for the Gaza genocide.
On this occasion, while agreeing on the international issues, the two leaders stressed the more effective and accelerated international efforts on the platforms of the United Nations and the OIC for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian brothers and sisters.
Meeting with Nepali Prime Minister
Apart from this, Prime Minister Shrhbaz Sharif also met Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on the occasion of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Shehbaz Sharif congratulated KP Sharma Oli on assuming the post of Prime Minister of Nepal.
He expressed his satisfaction with the deep bilateral relations between Pakistan and Nepal and expressed good wishes for the government and the people of Nepal on behalf of the people of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister expressed his desire to further strengthen multilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of trade, economy and tourism, and also invited the Prime Minister of Nepal to visit Pakistan.
