Lahore: A metro bus with passengers aboard caught fire near the Azaadi Chowk Metro Station Lahore in early hours of Thursday.

The driver, after being informed, pulled the bus over and opened the doors so that passengers could evacuate and disembark to safety.
However, no casualties were reported.
Rescue teams and firefighters rushed to the site and doused the flames while the metro bus service remained suspended for now.
As per eye witnesses, the fire broke out due to short circuit.
The damaged bus was lifted from the track using a crane and shifted to the Metro Bus Service workshop.
Following the incident, Metro Bus Authority (MBA) officials stated that they will probe it and take strict action if it was caused by human error.
