Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said that the stance of Pakistan regarding Afghanistan is clear and the country will not allow anyone to use its soil against neighboring country.

Referring to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s interview in New York Times, the information minister said that the premier has put forward the country’s stance clearly in front of the world.
“Imran Khan has stressed upon strengthening trade relation with United States (US) instead of security ties. In past, Pak-US relations were seen from the dimension of security aspects only,” he said adding that Pakistan will not allow anyone to use its soil against Afghanistan be it US or militant groups within Afghanistan.
He added that PM has pointed out sealing border with Afghanistan in case security situation deteriorates in the country.
“The work on Pakistan-Afghanistan border fence is 90% completed and we are in a position to seal our border with Afghanistan,” he added adding that Pakistan wants to see a stable and peaceful Afghanistan and that is reason it has contributed positively towards Afghan peace process.
Fawad Chaudhry further stated that PM, in his interview, has expressed hope for better relations with India.
“If Pakistan’s ties improve with India in near future, the country would have a geographically significant position between India and China,” he said.
