Tehran: Israel retaliated after the October 1 Iranian ballistic missile attacks and carried out airstrikes on the Iranian capital Tehran, Shiraz and Karaj.

Iran's official media confirmed the explosions in Tehran and said five were heard in Tehran and its nearby city of Karaj.

According to the Arab media, explosions were heard near the headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards, while after the Israeli attack on Tehran, fires broke out in many places. There was also a fire report in a building in Tehran, but the fire brigade department of Tehran clarified that this building had nothing to do with the Ministry of Defense.

According to Israeli media, there is an alleged explosion in an important building related to Iran's security system. It is claimed that the building in which the explosion occurred is in Tehran and more than 10 people have been rescued from this building.

According to Israeli media, Karaj is the city where Iran's nuclear power plants are located, but it is not clear whether the nuclear power plant has been targeted or not. The White House was informed before Israel attacked Iran.

Israeli media confirmed the targeting of several military targets in Iran in an airstrike regarding the Israeli Defense Force and said that the Israeli army had targeted specific points in Iran. The Israeli army is ready for both attacks and defenses. Iran and its proxies in the region are monitoring the situation.

According to the Israeli media, explosions were also heard in the central and suburban areas of Damascus. Explosions were also heard in the Iraqi city of Tikrit. At the time when the explosions occurred in Iraq and Syria, there were no planes in the skies of these two countries.

On the other hand, Iranian intelligence officials have told state TV that the reason for the explosions could be the activation of Iran's air defense system.

Iranian media claimed sources that no office of the Revolutionary Guards had been targeted in the Israeli attack.

Earlier, Faris News reported an explosion in Tehran that it was also reported at Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran.

Later, the CEO of Imam Khomeini International Airport rejected the reports of an attack on the airport and said that the first-morning flight from the airport would depart as usual and no flight would be canceled.

According to Iranian media, all flights are normal at Mehrabad Airport, no warplanes or missiles have been heard and there are no reports of fire or smoke coming from anywhere.

On the other hand, Arab media say that in addition to the explosion near Tehran Airport, explosions were also heard in the rural and central areas of Damascus.

Calling Iran's attack on Israel a self-defense exercise by Tel Aviv, the White House said that shortly before the attacks on Iran, American President Biden was informed of the possible action.

US National Security Council spokesman Sean Sewitt said that President Biden was told that this military targeting exercise was a self-defense exercise by Israel and that it was in response to Iran's ballistic missile attacks on Israel on October 1.

According to American officials, the US has no role in the Israeli military action against Iran, they are aware of the Israeli attacks on Iran, and are closely monitoring the situation.

It is pertinent to note that hundreds of missiles were fired directly at Israel by Iran on October 1. Later, the Israeli army confirmed that missiles fell on Israeli air bases during Iran's missile attacks on Israel.

According to the Israeli media, the statement issued by the Israeli army said that Iranian missiles had fallen on some Israeli air bases.
