Field Marshal Munir arrives in Tehran to attend Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's funeral prayer
On 28 February 2026, the US and Israel launched an attack in Tehran, destroying Ayatollah Khamenei's compound


Tehran: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has arrived in Tehran to participate in the funeral ceremony of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
At the airport, Iranian Defence and Interior Ministers, along with senior civil and military officials, received the Field Marshal.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also arrived in Iran, accompanied by key members of the federal cabinet. Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi will likewise attend the funeral of the martyred Iranian Supreme Leader.
It is worth recalling that on 28 February 2026, the United States and Israel launched an attack in Tehran, destroying Ayatollah Khamenei's compound. As a result, the Iranian Supreme Leader was martyred along with several other senior officials.
