Lahore tops most polluted cities, school hours changed
School hours in public and private schools in Lahore will start at 8:45am
Lahore: The polluted air coming from India has become poison for Lahore and the overall rate of smog has exceeded 500.
In terms of air pollution, Lahore has become the first in the world. Due to smog, school hours have been changed in Lahore from Monday.
According to the Department of Schools Education, the school hours in public and private schools in Lahore will start at 8:45am, applied from today i.e. October 28, 2024 to January 31, 2025. The assembly will be in the classroom and all kinds of outdoor activities have been directed to be suspended.
It is pertinent to note that the Environment Department of Punjab had advised to change the working hours of schools due to smog.
There will be a strict ban on all types of fireworks in Lahore till January 31, 2025.
Experts suggested that people should adopt masks and other protective measures to avoid smog, keep windows and doors of houses closed, and not stay in open spaces for long.
