Machines should be installed at international immigration counters at airports


Islamabad: The government has decided to install biometric machines at all airports across the country.
The Ministry of Interior made biometric verification mandatory for international passengers and issued a letter to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take immediate steps.
It has been stated in the post that due to biometric authentication, it will be impossible for wanted accused persons to travel in and out of the country. The machines should be installed at international immigration counters at airports.
The letter issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs further stated that effective screening of passengers will be ensured with biometrics. The initiative aims at making security more efficient and in line with international standards.
