US election: Katy Perry to rally in Pittsburgh for Harris-Walz campaign
Perry’s participation at this high-profile rally is part of a broader “Get Out the Vote”
Pittsburgh (Web Desk): Grammy-nominated artist Katy Perry is set to make an appearance today in Pittsburgh to support Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, as the 2024 presidential election looms closer.
Perry’s participation at this high-profile rally is part of a broader “Get Out the Vote” effort aimed at mobilising young voters and first-time voters across key swing states, with Pennsylvania at the centre of this push.
Perry, a well-known advocate for social justice and progressive causes, is expected to add energy and star power to the Pittsburgh event. "Our focus is on bringing people together and energising those who have the power to shape our future," Perry shared in a statement. Her involvement underscores the Harris-Walz campaign's strategy to engage key demographics ahead of Election Day.
This rally is one of several across Pennsylvania on November 4, where Perry’s influence will be paralleled by a star-studded lineup at a separate rally in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia event will feature powerhouse names such as Lady Gaga, Oprah Winfrey, Jazmine Sullivan, the Roots, Fat Joe, Freeway, Just Blaze, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Adam Blackstone, and DJ Cassidy. According to the Harris-Walz campaign, "Our aim is to inspire and remind voters of the crucial role they play in determining our nation’s path."
By drawing in prominent entertainers, the campaign hopes to galvanise support in Pennsylvania—a pivotal battleground state that could influence the 2024 election outcome.
