Pakistan clinch ODI series win in Australia after 22 years
Pakistan chased down the target of 141 runs after losing just two wickets
Perth: Pakistan have made history on Sunday by clinching an 8-wicket win in the third and decisive ODI at Perth.
Pakistan chased down the target after losing just two wickets.
Saim Ayub was the top scorer with 42 runs, followed by Abdullah Shafique's 37.
Mohammad Rizwan scored an unbeaten 30 along with Babar Azam's unbeatable 28 runs.
Australia were bowled out for a total of 140 runs against fiery Pakistan pace attack.
Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah claimed three wickets each, Haris Rauf two, while Hasnain sent one batsman to the pavilion.
Mohammad Rizwan was confident enough to use only four bowlers in the match and did not use any fifth option.
Pakistan has defeated Australia in a one-day series on their home soil for the first time in 22 years. The last time Pakistan won an ODI series in Australia was in 2002.
Sean Abbott was the highest scorer for the hosts with 30 runs, Matt Short 22, Adam Zampa 13, Spenser Johnson 12, and Aaron Hardie made 12 runs.
Six Aussie batsman were unable to enter into the double figures including Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Cooper Connolly, and Lance Morris.
Cooper Connolly returned to the pavilion, injured, after being hit on the hand and is unlikely to return to the crease.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to field in the deciding match of the three-match ODI series against Australia.
The final game of the series is being played in Perth, where Pakistani captain Mohammad Rizwan chose to bowl first after winning the toss.
Australia have made five changes to their playing side, while Pakistan side remained unchanged.
Pat Cummins, Josh Hazleweood, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Zampa were excluded to give rest before Border Gavaskar Trophy matches.
Both teams have won one match each so far, making the series level at 1-1.
In the first match, Pakistan lost to Australia by two wickets, while in the second match, the Pakistani bowlers dominated, putting pressure on the Australian batters.
