Price of first-grade oil and ghee has jumped from 505 rupees to 559


Lahore: The Prices of first-grade ghee and oil have been increased by 54 to 60 rupees per kilogram in the open market.
Market sources say that the retail price of first-grade oil and ghee has jumped from 505 rupees to 559 rupees per kilogram.
The price of second-grade ghee, which was selling for 440 rupees, has now reached 500 rupees, while in some areas, it is being sold for 525 to 530 rupees.
Second-grade oil, which was previously sold at 452 rupees per liter, has increased to 512 rupees.
In some retail locations, it is now being sold for 530 to 540 rupees per liter.
Earlier, The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) on last Thursday reduced the prices of sugar across the country,
The Utility Stores Corporation has cut the price of sugar by 13 rupees per kilogram, bringing the new price to 140 rupees per kilogram, effective immediately.
Previously, sugar was being sold at 153 rupees per kilogram at the Utility Stores.
The corporation had requested sugar mills to lower the price of sugar, and in response, the sugar mill owners agreed to reduce the price by 17 rupees per kilogram.
After receiving this rebate from the mills, the Utility Stores Corporation passed on the reduction to consumers.
The Utility Stores had purchased 12,000 metric tons of sugar for 137 rupees per kilogram.
However, after adding additional costs, the corporation ended up paying around 152 rupees per kilogram for the sugar.
