Melbourne: The new fast-spreading Delta variant is posing threat to Australia’s ‘Covid normal’ stage with number of cases increasing with each passing day.

According to details, as the rest of the world had been trudging between smart lockdowns, lockdowns and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Australia was enjoying what is to be said a “Covid normal’’ stage where people were free to hang out at restaurants, nightclubs, and theaters.
Border restrictions and obligatory quarantine worked wonders for the country, at least most of the time.
When an infection was reported, the officials worked fast in chasing away the virus by administrating lock downs immediately.
The country’s capital steered clear of the virus by the gold standard test and trace strategy.
But in the past 15 days the Delta variant slipped into the city’s defenses, and more than 100 positive cases of coronavirus have emerged in one week.
On 25 June, the officials acknowledged the need of a lockdown for Sydney but by Monday the country was in deep waters, the variant had crossed four states and territories.
All the major capitals Sydney, Berth, Brisbane, and Perth are now subjected to a lockdown.
80% of Australia’s population is now under lockdowns and SOPs.
The state and federal government concluded to make vaccines accessible in the emergency meeting that was held on Monday.
Though, many Australians have been questioning the need of living under constraints, especially seven months after the world started to administer the vaccination to masses.
