Provincial govt has allocated Rs70 million for the free ambulance service


Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to start a free ambulance service for overseas Pakistanis.
According to the document, the provincial government has allocated Rs70 million for the free ambulance service and six ambulances will be purchased. While an additional Rs1.5 million will be released for monthly petrol and other expenses.
The document said that the service would transport the dead bodies brought from foreign countries to their native areas. The free ambulance service would be provided at Peshawar and Islamabad airports. The government has assigned the task to the Resettlement Department to start the service.
The document further stated that in this regard, the Relief Department will settle all matters with the Civil Aviation Authority. A large population of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is living abroad and the relatives face problems in transferring the dead bodies from the airport to their native areas.
