Lahore: The senate chairmanship is an important slot and former President Asif Ali Zardari would be the one to play significant role in choosing Senate chairman.
In upcoming Senate elections Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) hopes to get 28-29 seats. Whereas Senate chairman would be elected by PPP, PML-N, ANP and Akhtar Mengal collectively.

While taking in GNN programme 'Khabar Hay', Senior Analyst Arif Hameed Bhatti said that it would be quite tough for the government to elect their candidate for the position of Senate chairman. Though PML-Q and MQM stand with the government but the deciding votes would be from the parliamentarians of Balochistan Awami Party headed by Akhtar Mengal.
