Lahore: International Aviation Day is being celebrated all over the world, including Pakistan, on Saturday.
The International Civil Aviation Organization was established in 1944 and started celebrating International Aviation Day with the approval of the United Nations General Assembly in 1996, 52 years after its establishment.
The aim of celebrating this day is to provide the safest travel facilities to passengers, develop the important sector of aviation on modern lines, raise awareness about the importance of International Civil Aviation, and highlight the role of the International Civil Aviation Organization for international air transport.
Civil Aviation plays a key role from the take-off to the landing of an aircraft on the runway, keeping an eye on the aircraft flying at an altitude of thousands of feet with the help of radar and other modern equipment.
