Constitutional bench disposed of the case by dismissing the petition


Islamabad: The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking stay on trials of civilians in military courts.
A seven-member constitutional bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, headed by Justice Aminuddin, heard a petition seeking stay on trials of civilians in military courts.
Senior lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan had filed a petition seeking stay on hearing of petitions challenging the 26th Constitutional Amendment until the decision is made.
The constitutional bench disposed of the case by dismissing the petition seeking postponement of hearing of cases in military courts until the decision is made on the 26th Amendment.
The Supreme Court also imposed a fine of Rs20,000 on former Chief Justice of Pakistan Jawad S. Khawaja.
