Deaths from 'challenge videos', Venezuela fines TikTok with $10mn
Three young people have reportedly died in Venezuela to complete TikTok challenge videos

Caracas: The Supreme Court of Venezuela has fined TikTok $10 million for failing to act on deaths caused by challenge videos.
According to foreign media, the Supreme Court of Venezuela has fined TikTok $10 million over the deaths caused by challenge videos on the social media app TikTok.
According to the report, three young people have reportedly died in Venezuela in the race to complete TikTok challenge videos, and the court said that app is not taking any steps to block or remove the content in this regard.
The court decision does not mention how TikTok should pay the fine, while TikTok officials have not yet responded to the decision.
Last November, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro blamed TikTok for the death of a 12-year-old girl who allegedly participated in a TikTok challenge that involved taking tranquilizers but not sleeping.
