Kiribati will be the first to welcome New Year in the world
When 2025 will begin in Pakistan, several countries around the world will have already welcomed the New Year.
Kiribati, a true island nation in the central Pacific Ocean, and its largest island, Kiritimati, will be the first to welcome the New Year in the world.
According to Pakistani time, 2025 will begin at 3:00pm here.
After that, Chatham Island in New Zealand will begin at 3:15pm, while 2025 will begin at 4:00pm in most parts of New Zealand, including Samoa, Tonga, the Phoenix Islands of Kiribati, some parts of Antarctica, and Tokelau.
Hawaii, American Samoa, and several US-controlled islands on the other side of the Internet Date Line will be the last places where people will have to wait until Wednesday according to Pakistani time to start the New Year.
It is pertinent to note that the International Date Line is the name of an imaginary line that runs from north to south on the Earth’s surface opposite the first hemisphere. At the same time, there are two different dates on both sides of it, that is, the date of the western part is one day ahead of the date of the eastern part.
In total, 39 time zones are being used around the world. Some countries are 15 or 30 minutes ahead of their neighbors' time, but in some places, this difference is several hours.
In total, it takes 26 hours to complete the process of welcoming the New Year around the world.
