Special B form introduced for children above 10 years

Islamabad: NADRA has decided to introduce B Form with special security features for children above 10 years of age.

In this regard, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the issuance of special B Form registration certificates will be phased out from January 15. In collaboration with the Passport Department, NADRA will include the fingerprints and photographs of children in B Form.

He stated that these measures will help prevent theft and misuse of children’s identity information.

Mohsin Naqvi added that these measures will help prevent crimes such as fake identity cards of children, illegal passports, and human trafficking. He congratulated the Chairman NADRA, DG Passport and the entire team for introducing reforms in B Form in a short period of time.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, in the first phase, fingerprints and photographs of children above 10 years and below 18 years will be taken at the NADRA center from January 15. These children must be accompanied by one of the parents or legal guardians. They must also bring their computerized national identity card and the child’s computerized birth certificate issued by the union council or town committee.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior says that after necessary action in NADRA, a B form with the child’s photograph will be issued. Children above 10 years and below 18 years will also have to submit their fingerprints and photograph with the B form issued by NADRA at the time of applying for a new passport. The old B form, which does not include a photograph and fingerprints, will not be acceptable for children of the above age group.
