Islamabad: The federal government has appointed Air Vice Marshal Aamir Hayat as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
According to the notification, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved the appointment after the board of directors recommended it.
Air Vice Marshal Aamir Hayat will hold this position until the appointment of a permanent CEO. He had previously served as the permanent CEO of the national airline.
In response to this appointment, the National Airline Officers Association (SASA) said that the government wants to fulfill nefarious intentions in the national airline through Aamir Hayat.
According to SASA, Aamir Hayat's appointment violates the rules of the national airline. SASA will challenge this appointment at every forum.
