Minimum temperature in Lahore likely to reach 9 degrees and maximum to 17


Lahore: The entry of westerly winds has increased the intensity of cold across the country, including the provincial capital Lahore, while rains are also likely to start today.
According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Lahore is likely to reach 9 degrees Celsius and the maximum to 17 degrees Celsius. The wind speed in the city has been recorded at 6 kilometers per hour.
Weather forecasters say that there are chances of rain in various districts of Punjab including Lahore from today to January 6, which is expected to further increase the intensity of cold.
Meanwhile, Lahore still ranks third in Pakistan in terms of air pollution, with an average smog rate of 216 recorded in the city.
On the other hand, the weather in Islamabad and its surroundings will remain cold and partly cloudy today, with light rain expected.
Rain and snowfall are expected in northern and western Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjacent hilly areas. Moderate to heavy rain and snowfall are predicted at a few places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the night.
Moderate to heavy fog is expected in most plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during the morning and night hours. Rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, and Jhelum, while light rain and snowfall are also expected in Murree, Galiyat, and its surroundings. The weather is likely to remain cold and dry in most districts of Sindh.
