Tunis: Two migrant boats sank in Tunisia, killing 27 people.
According to foreign media, boats carrying migrants from African countries sank near the city of Sfax in Tunisia, killing 24 people, including women and children, while 83 people were rescued.
According to Tunisian National Guard officials, 15 injured people have been sent to hospital for medical treatment. The remaining dead and rescued people have been handed over to the Coast Guard authorities.
It is pertinent to note that accidents often occur in Tunisia with migrant boats trying to reach Europe illegally, and last month, Tunisian Coast Guard officials found the bodies of 30 migrants who drowned in two separate accidents.
