Court directed disciplinary action against her lawyers for not completing cross-examination of witness
Rawalpindi: The court has expressed strong anger over the non-appearance of former first lady Bushra Bibi and her lawyer in the Toshakhana II case.
Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand heard the Toshakhana II case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and his wife Bushra Bibi in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi. Bushra Bibi and her lawyer did not appear in court today, over which the court expressed strong anger.
During the hearing, the cross-examination of the fourth witness, Deputy Director Coordination of the Cabinet Division, Muhammad Ahad, was completed. The cross-examination was conducted by the lawyer of PTI founder Faisal Mufti. The statement of the prosecution witness Talat was also recorded during the hearing.
The court directed disciplinary action against Bushra Bibi’s lawyers for not completing the cross-examination of the witness at the next hearing. A total of five more witnesses were summoned at the next hearing. The court has summoned Muhammad Shafqat, Qaiser, Umar Siddique, Mohsin, and Faheem to record their statements.
Later, the court adjourned the further hearing of the Tosha Khana II case against PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi until January 14.
