Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the nation on the record increase in remittances and said that $3.1 billion in remittances were received by December 2024, which is 5.6 percent more than November 2024. From December 2023 to 2024, remittances increased by 29.3 percent.
He stated that this is a testament to the determination of Pakistani brothers and sisters to play a role in the development of the country and nation. The claims of those who raised slogans to stall the country's economy have been left in vain.
Pakistan has embarked on the path of economic development after economic stability. The Government of Pakistan is committed to the development of the country and the welfare of the people, added the Prime Minister.
It is pertinent to note that the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) stated that overseas Pakistanis sent home $3.07 billion in December 2024.
