CJP Yahya Afridi said that every judge of the Supreme Court is independent


Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi says the issue of missing persons has shaken him.
Members of the Supreme Court Press Association met Chief Justice Yahya Afridi in which they discussed various issues including the difficulties faced by journalists during court proceedings.
On this occasion, CJP Yahya Afridi said that every judge of the Supreme Court is independent, they should not be bracketed. There should be criticism of judges but constructive.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan stated that many steps have been taken regarding reforms in the Supreme Court. The authority of the High Court is highly respected and the District Judiciary is under the High Court. There will be no direct interference in the authority of the High Court or the subordinate judiciary. The delivery of justice can be improved by changing the direction of the Supreme Court.
He added that when he went to Quetta, associations complained about missing persons five times, and the issue of missing persons shook him.
