Intensity of cold continues across country


Lahore: Foggy conditions persist in various cities of the country, motorways were closed at several places due to low visibility, and the schedule of several passenger trains has also been affected.
According to the Motorway Police spokesperson, due to low visibility, the M1 Motorway from Peshawar to Swabi, the M2 from Lahore to Khanqah Dogran, and the M3 from Lahore to Darkhana have been closed for traffic.
Motorway M4 from Gojra to Multan, and M5 from Multan to Rohri are closed, while traffic is also prohibited on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway M11.
In addition, the schedule of passenger trains has also been affected due to heavy fog in Lahore and its surroundings. Several trains were delayed due to low visibility, causing inconvenience to passengers.
On the other hand, the intensity of cold continues across the country. Light rain and snowfall are likely in a few places in northwestern Balochistan. Rain is likely in Quetta, Chaman, Ziarat, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, and other areas.
The upper areas experienced bitter cold, with the temperature recorded at -12 in Leh, -11 in Gopis, -10 in Astore, Skardu, -7 in Kalam, -6 in Hunza, -5 in Bagroot, and -4 degrees Celsius in Chitral and others.
In addition, according to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Lahore will remain cold and dry today.
The provincial capital is likely to record a minimum temperature of 6 and a maximum temperature of 17 degrees Celsius today, while the current temperature in the city is recorded at 7 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, the humidity in the air is 89 percent while the wind speed is recorded at 3kms per hour.
