It is feared that more cases will emerge in coming days


Tanzania: Eight people have died in the East African country of Tanzania from a suspected Marburg virus.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), eight people have died in the spread of the Marburg epidemic in the Kagera region of Tanzania, and member countries have been informed about the epidemic.
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom said that nine cases of Marburg have been reported in Tanzania, including eight deaths, and it is feared that more cases will emerge in the coming days.
He stated that the World Health Organization has offered assistance to the Tanzanian government and affected communities.
According to the news agency, 15 people died from the same epidemic in Rwanda a month ago.
It is pertinent to note that Marburg causes a highly contagious hemorrhagic fever which is spread by fruit bats. Marburg belongs to the same family of viruses as Ebola.
